The 200 Som banknote of 2023 year is produced on white paper of 138x66 mm. The main color of the banknote is yellow. The paper has a local multi-tonal watermark that repeats the portrait depicted on the front side of banknote combined with numbers. The paper also equipped with micro-optic security thread that contains figures of denomination “200” and the diamond-shaped logo of the National Bank.
The portrait, the inscriptions (“KЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ”, “ЭКИ ЖYЗ CОМ”, “200”, “ТӨРАГА”), the signature of the National Bank’s Chairman and special marks intended for the visually impaired people on the front side of the banknote are printed with raised ink.
The distinctive features of 200 Som banknote of 2023 year
On the front side of banknote, there is a portrait of Kyrgyz poet, playwright Alykul Osmonov, and the inscription “АЛЫКУЛ ОСМОНОВ 1915-1950”. Under the portrait there is an inscription “ЭКИ ЖYЗ CОМ”. On the left side of the portrait there is an ornament made with color-shifting ink; the pattern is shifting from gold to jade, and moving double rings can be seen when the banknote is tilted. Figures of denomination “200” are located in the upper left and lower right corners of the banknote. In the upper right part of the banknote there are inscriptions “KЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ” and “ТӨРАГА”, as well as the signature of the National Bank`s Chairman. A rhombus depicted in the lower right part of the banknote, tilt the note to see a rainbow image of the graphic symbol of Som – C. The fragments of pattern depicted above the rhombus complete a pattern of diamond when banknote is held up to the light.
On the reverse of the banknote, there is an image of Issyk-Kul Lake against the background of the beautiful Kyrgyzstan’s peaks and lines from A. Osmonov’s poem devoted to Issyk-Kul. The upper left corner of the banknote contains figures of denomination “200”, and inscription “KЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ”. The left side of the banknote displays fragments of pattern completed the pattern of diamond against the light, and the year of issue “2023” is specified. In the center of the banknote there is a gold glossy stripe contains figures of denomination “200” and the diamond-shaped logo of the National Bank. In the lower right corner there are figures of denomination “200” and inscription “ЭКИ ЖYЗ CОМ”. The serial numbers of the banknote are located in the upper right and lower corners of the banknote.
The distinctive features of the 200 Som banknote of 2016 year
On the front side of the note the portrait of Kyrgyz poet, playwright Alykul Osmonov, made by classic engraved method. There is a relief image of the national pattern on the right side of the portrait. Hold the note up to the light the word “сом” appears.
On the back side there is the glossy stripe represents as repeating figures “200” and the inscription “КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ” on the right side of the banknote. The year of issue “2016” indicated on the bottom of the banknote.
The 200-Som banknote of 2010 year is made on white paper of 138x66 mm. The main color of the banknote is yellow. The colorless fibers, which have yellow-green luminescence in UV-light, are embedded in the paper. The paper has the local watermark repeating the portrait at the front of the banknote and the electrotyped watermark representing the denomination in figures. The windowed metallic security thread with the microtext “200 сом” is embedded in the paper. The white coupon fields are located along the edges of the banknote. The portrait, the inscriptions “KЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ”, “ЭКИ ЖYЗ CОМ”, “200”, the signature of the National Bank’s Governor (Төрага) at the front side of the banknote are made with raised printing.
At the top of the front side of the banknote: there are the figures denomination “200” with microimages of birds, the signature of the National Bank’s Governor (Төрага), the inscription “КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ”, the serial number of the banknote printing in red ink. There are the portrait of Alykul Osmonov, Kyrgyz poet, playwright, and the inscription “АЛЫКУЛ ОСМОНОВ 1915-1950” on the left side of the banknote. The portrait is made with many times repeating inscription “АЛЫКУЛОСМОНОВ” (name and surname of person) in microletters visible with magnifying glass. There is a repeating inscription “КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ” visible with magnifying glass in the lines on the right side of the portrait. The holographic stripe is situated on the left side from the portrait. It contains colour figures denomination (200), “Кыргыз Банкы” inscription and image of pen that will change its direction from right to left if the banknote is tilted. There is the inscription “ЭКИ ЖYЗ СОМ” under the portrait. There is the serial number printed in black ink on the white coupon field on the left side of the portrait. There is a relief image of the sun and surges stood out against a background in form of yellow circle on the right side of the security thread. There is the see-through register formed the name of currency – “сом” on the white coupon field of the watermark. There is a yellow rectangle containing the relief image of the national ornament at the lower right part. The figures “200” appears in rectangle covered with ornament while the banknote is tilted. The denomination figures “200” are situated at the lower right corner.
At the top of the back side of the banknote: there is the image of Issyk-Kul Lake at the background of the beautiful peaks of Kyrgyzstan and the poetic lines by A. Osmonov devoted to Issyk-Kul. The inscription “КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ” and the denomination figures “200” are situated at the top of the banknotes. There is the iridescent stripe represents as repeating figures “200” and the inscription “КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ” in the centre of the banknote. There are the denomination figures “200”, the inscription “ЭКИ ЖYЗ СОМ” and the year of issue “2010” at the bottom of the banknote.
The distinctive characteristics of the 200 Som banknote of 2004 year
There are the poetic lines devoted to Issyk-Kul Lake from the original work “Jenishbek” by A.Osmonov at the back side of the banknote. There is the year of issue “2004” at the back side of the banknote.
The 200-som banknote of 2000year is made on white paper of 155х74 mm in size. The main color of the banknote is yellow. The red, blue and green fibers as well as the colorless fibers luminescent in UV-light are embedded in the paper. The paper has the local watermark repeating the portrait at the front of the banknote and the electrotyped watermark representing the denomination in figures. The window metallic security thread with the microtext “200 com” is embedded in the paper. The strip code is located at the left and the right side of the banknote.

At the top of the front side of the banknote: there are the text “КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ”, the signature of the National Bank’s Governor (Төрага), three slanting strokes for the people with the weak eyesight, the figure denomination “200” with a repeating number “200” visible with magnifying glass, the serial number of the banknote printing in red pink. There are the portrait of Alykul Osmonov, Kyrgyz poet, playwright creating in the first half of the 20-th century, the inscription “АЛЫКУЛ ОСМОНОВ (1915-1950)”, name and surname of person. There is the golden foil formed the rhombus on the left side of the banknote. It contains the relief image of the figure denomination “200”. There is the see-through register formed the ornament under the foil. There are the special marks with the raised relief for the people with the weak eyesight are located on the white coupon field. The figure denomination “200” with a repeating number “200” visible with magnifying glass is situated at the lower left corner. There is the inscription “ЭКИ ЖҮЗ СОМ” with the line “КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ” visible with magnifying glass. There is the vertical serial number printed in black ink on the right side of the portrait.
