The National Bank Held a Training Seminar on Cybersecurity and Financial Literacy for Regional Mass Media
On August 27, 2026, the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic held a training seminar for media representatives from Issyk-Kul, Talas, and Naryn oblasts. The event was held at the “Tolkun” Educational and Health Center in Cholpon-Ata.
The main goal of the seminar was to improve the financial literacy of regional journalists, deepen their knowledge of financial institutions’ cybersecurity, and strengthen partnerships and constructive cooperation between the media and the regulator.
Representatives of the National Bank briefed journalists on information security and countering modern threats. Particular attention during the seminar was paid to dropping and protecting citizens from financial fraudsters.
The practical part of the event took the form of group work, during which effective communication channels and rules for operational interaction in crisis situations were developed. Representatives of the National Bank and journalists also presented joint methods for combating misinformation (fake news) in the media
The event concluded with an interactive game and an awards ceremony.
